PROJECT: 26 Week RTT Target
TYPE: Critical learning

REQUIREMENT:

An urgent training requirement was identified for NHS Wales medical secretaries and administrators when a government target of 26 weeks referral to treatment time was set and expected to be in practice by December 2009. Complex processes needed to be explained and understood in order to implement changes necessary for staff to meet the government target.

OUR APPROACH:

Our 3 modules plus assessment visually defined the referral to treatment process and used iconography and animation to make the information easy to absorb. In addition, we identified, wrote and designed 11 scenarios which gave learners a chance to practice the rules surrounding the process.
