Multimedia Designer
Instructional Designer / Producer (IDP)

Job Description:
This is an intermediate level position. The Multimedia Designer creates both entire modules and assets for e-learning production such as illustrations, creative designs for pitches, video formatting, and Flash learning interactions. The role requires a creative thinker, a superb designer and a competent multimedia solution finder, able to execute work across a variety of platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming in Flash and Actionscript 2+, XML
- Graphic design for digital interfaces
- Illustration for e-learning
- Creating modules in Flash, Lectora, Articulate, and client authoring tools
- Coding in html and CSS where appropriate
- Engaging with content across a range of subjects to inform effective, innovative learning interaction solutions
- Working with video
- Taking full accountability for own work produced and quality checking
Essential Requirements:
- Fully conversant in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash and Actionscript 2 to CS3 level
- Commercial E-learning or digital development experience of at least 1 year
- Good knowledge of multimedia formats for use of video, audio
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to work well independently as well as in a development team
Non Essential but Desirable Requirements:
- Knowledge of Articulate and Lectora
- 3D experience
- Awareness of server and client side programming languages
Person requirements:
- Can do attitude, problem solving and positive when faced with new challenges
- Quick thinking and stress tolerant, able to work quickly and accurately to tight deadlines
- Desire to shape creative and technical output
- Flexibility with regards to role emphasis due to working in a fast growing company with multiple demands

Instructional Designer / Producer (IDP) - Full-time permanent
Job Description:
This is a pivotal role for the company and the team. Instructional Designer / Producers lead the delivery of e-learning content from scope to hand over. Responsible for writing courses for e- learning, the IDP will also lead the team in its creative and technical implementation. The role would include some travel for client meetings and learning days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meeting with clients to ascertain learning need
- Scoping resources into viable e-learning content overviews
- Writing courses and scripts with ideas for creative treatment
- Specifying technical delivery method and authoring asset requirement and format lists
- Collaborating with inhouse team of designers and developers in the direction and delivery
- Scriptwriting for audio
- Being able to communicate solutions visually through wireframing and sketches / other methods to ensure team and client understanding
- Working and contributing to project workflow processes
- Estimating production times and creating cost proposals in consultation with development team and sales negotiators
- Leading the production of occasional up sale products such as promos and demos, web banners, printed media and micro/web sites
- Writing case studies for the Sponge website and authoring the Sponge blog: spongecreate.wordpress.com
- Writing compelling Award entries for prestigious e-learning awards
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent and versatile writing style, with experience in online writing
- Superb verbal communicator and influencer, able to motivate and lead a creative team
- Expert ability at getting to the heart of the learning need and translate this into effective online solutions
- Knowledge of what’s possible creatively and technically across a variety of platforms
- Experience of writing for a breadth of subjects from finance to medical, sales to management
- Business focused, relationship driven
- Quick thinking and solution oriented, your decisions help project managers and teams to meet their deadlines
Non Essential but Desirable Requirements:
- Project management experience esp with Agile methodology
- A vocal member of e-learning community, regularly contributing to blogs and discussions and keeping ahead of the curve in the fast moving e-training marketplace
- Knowledge of Sponge’s competitors
Person requirements:
- Passionate about e-learning and its creative potential
- Professional, engaging personality, able to inspire confidence in clients and foster ongoing relationships
- Can do attitude, problem solving

- Must be able to work well within a team

Qualifications:
- Qualified to degree level, IDPs may come from a language, teaching and/or creative background
